Access Ludus Dance

We aim to offer equal access for all and to ensure that everyone visiting Ludus Dance feels as welcome and comfortable as possible.

Ludus Dance is situated in the heart of Lancaster in the Georgian, Grade II listed Assembly Rooms building. Our entrance is to the right of the landmark white pillars of the Assembly Rooms.

Our inclusive dance classes are accessible to visitors with visual and audio impairments, mental health issues and long term conditions. As part of our commitment to accessibility we are working to make our dance studio more accessible for people with impaired mobility. We have a five-year business plan to review and develop our physical space and access. In the meantime, we offer events at other locations and can hire venues for dance programmes.

Accessibility Details

The main entrance is at street level.

Our reception and dance studio are up two flights of stairs with two mid-landings (14 steps and 11 steps).

Seating is available in the reception area where there are toilets with disabled facilities, and the flooring throughout the building is either wooden, linoleum or short pile carpet.

There is an induction loop system in the Ludus Dance Reception Area. Visitors wearing a hearing device should turn this to the 'T' position.

Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas.

We'd love to help, wherever we can, with any specific requirements.
