Autumn Term 2020
Following the news that we are vacating the Assembly Rooms, we have been trialing and testing outdoor delivery in Williamson Park, More Music courtyard and Ryelands Park and School. For the Autumn and Winter of 2020, we will be working in partnership with Ryelands Primary and Nursery School, Lancaster, delivering cultural education and targeted learning during the week and running our Studio Programme from the school grounds and other public spaces on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Classes that we offered before lockdown, including LYDC Juniors, Ballet Bounce, Junior Ballet and Dance Blast will resume in September as we test out this new way of working - outdoors, mobile, digital*.
All necessary safety precautions will take place, with hand sanitisers on site and colourful dots on the floor to assist participants with social distancing. Sessions will be limited to 12 participants, which sits nicely with our person-centred approach and gives the workshop leader the opportunity to see how participants are progressing throughout the weeks. For those children and young people who are nervous about returning to dance in person, we will continue to offer an online weekly, inclusive dance class designed to enable all children, regardless of their age, ability or background to access and enjoy dancing. During lockdown we took the time to find a safe, secure and effective platform (whereby.com) and developed a strong delivery model to continue to provide the same quality experience you have come to expect from us. You can read more about our chosen online platform in our user guide.
Wednesday 16th September - Saturday 12th December
Please note that there will be no classes during half term, W/C 26th October, accept for Inclusion in Motion which will run through uninterrupted until 16th December.
