Discovering the Power of You in Settle!
We delivered a 6 week programme with Settle Community Youth Group ran by Selfa Charity with young people aged 11-16. The project explored their understanding of climate issues and celebrated how we can make positive impact on climate change with our everyday actions and choices.
The programme focused on asking questions around the impact of everyday items such as clothes, bags and everyday waste and then researching to discover the enviromental impacts they have.
The young people identified the most shocking facts they learnt and decided to share these through their narrative. We then used recycled materials to create characters that would go on a discovery journey learning from eachother about how we can make positive change.
The young people were involved in every aspect of decision making in the journey of this project. Truly ran by their understanding, their questions around how we can improve and the answers they discovred along the way. This is showcased through the film in which they wrote the narrative, crafted the recycled characters and created the movement.
