ABOUT LUDUS DANCE

CREATING DANCE THAT MATTERS

Our mission is to inspire, engage and empower children and young people through dance.

Ludus Dance uses dance as a tool to positively enhance the lives of children, young people & their families.

We believe that dance can be a tool for social change, community building, personal healing and enviromental awareness. We create accessible dance opportunities for local young people including those facing a more complex transition into adulthood. We aim to ensure that financial, social or personal complexities do not become a barrier to dancing with us.

Ludus Dance was founded in 1975 by playful socio-political activists creating work that sparked discussion, learning and growth amongst young people. 50 years later we still embody this ethos by putting young people are the heart of everything we do.

We deliver bespoke programmes in schools (secondary and primary) and in the community.

We support emerging dance artists by offering mentoring opportunties in facilitation, choreography, performance and administration.

As a charity we are supported by a collection of funders who share our belief that dancing with Ludus really can help children & young people visualise and celebrate the future, through experiencing joy in the present.
