Ten years of showcasing the region’s best emerging talent

We’re celebrating ten years of showcasing some of the best emerging talent from around our region. And in 2018 we aim to BIG UP our home-grown talent even further with the launch of BIG UP North Dance Theatre Festival, in partnership with The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster.

Marking ten years since the Lancashire Youth Dance Festival began, we are going BIGGER and BETTER than ever before to bring you BIG UP North – a celebration of dance theatre that ‘our kid would be proud of.’

We’re looking for high quality, energy and raw talent

For BIG UP North Dance Theatre Festival, we’re looking for fresh, exciting and original performances that BIG UP the diverse and unique range of high quality dance and physical theatre we’ve got right across the North West.

Youth, community groups and early career artists, this is for you

We’re looking forward to receiving applications from youth and community groups and graduate/early career artists for original performance pieces across different dance forms, dance for camera and physical theatre, and applications are open now! If you’ve got an exceptional dance theatre performance that’s a ‘proper belter’, let us know by APPLYING HERE.

Together, let’s make it a ‘reet good do’

The selected pieces will be performed at the BIG UP North Dance Theatre Festival at The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster, on either Friday 20th or Saturday 21st April 2018. The pieces will be selected, by a professional panel from The Dukes and Ludus Dance, for their energy, skill, technique, and honest, raw talent.
