A flagship youth dance company for the North West

Ludus Youth Dance Company (LYDC) is one of the North West’s flagship youth dance companies. For the last two years the company has been selected to represent the North West at the U-Dance National Festival and last summer performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

LYDC offers high quality training in contemporary dance technique, physical theatre and performance skills for young people aged 14-21.

Each year Ludus Dance Company members work with nationally respected choreographers and learn about life as a professional artist. They get to devise, perform, and tour new work, and benefit from developing their skills and technique through a year’s training with Ludus Dance.

Rehearsals take place once a month, with choreographic residencies taking place in August, October half term and weekends in December/January.  There are also technical training opportunities through Ludus Dance’s Boost It programme.

Auditions for 2017/18 will take place at Ludus Dance on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of June 2017.  Deadline for applications is 5PM, Sunday 18th June.

We’re looking for young dancers with the commitment, stamina and enthusiasm to grow, and make a real contribution to the company.
