“A piece of feedback that I always get is to use breath within my movement. As a result of not using breath I tend to lose the ability to be soft when dancing. At a recent Ludus session we learnt a phrase which focused a lot on the use of breath and being soft. When we learnt this phrase I concentrated a lot on breathing in and out of every movement. I felt such a powerful feeling after and it made me excited, as if I was to implement this technique into my whole dance practice, it could not only enhance my skill level when approaching new ways of moving, but also it my increase my skills when performing! Ultimately the use of breathe can help all areas of dance, including both the physical and mental side of the art form! I’m so happy that I found this realisation and I’m excited to keep working at it.”
